Whereas liability insurance deals with compensating third parties for physical loss, physical damage or bodily injury, professional indemnity deals with professional errors (such as advice, design, treatment or specification) which lead to financial losses.
There has been a sharp increase in the numbers and types of professions who have taken up professional indemnity insurance in recent years. More people than ever before run their own businesses and they run the very real risk of litigation costing them everything.
We can arrange professional indemnity insurance for all types of occupation – from the sole practitioner to the large corporate client. We use a large panel of insurers and certain occupations require that the insurer must be approved by their professional body. This can be arranged.
Policies can be tailored to suit individual requirements. There is no such thing as a standard policy and cover amongst insurers varies widely.
The above statement is not designed to act as a summary of cover, but is intended as a general guide only. It should not be relied upon as confirmation that any particular item is covered by a policy held.
In each case, we will be happy to discuss the cover provided.
