A firm was using a national carrier to transport goods. The “insurance” they paid the carrier was limited to £100 per tonne. The firm manufactured aluminium cases for telecommunications equipment. Scrap aluminium can vary from £500 to £1,000 per tonne. We arranged a marine cargo policy which cost less than they were paying the carrier and the sum insured was £40,000 per shipment.
