Insurance Case Studies – Construction Companies
Construction Company
One firm had never asked their employees about motoring convictions or any physical or mental conditions which might
affect their ability to drive (a perfectly legitimate question for anyone using a company vehicle). Completing a very short
form revealed three drink driving convictions and an employee with a long history of coronary heart disease.
Contracting Company
Drivers at another company (with sign written vehicles) had not obtained records of driving convictions. We asked for details.
Results yielded eight convictions for using mobile telephones whilst driving. A sign written van with a driver on the phone
is bad publicity for any employer and we set about tackling the problem by arranging a driver education programme at no cost to the client.
